friendships are a beautiful and cool things.
it's what keeps you awake in the morning.
it helps your education and learning.
as you listen to your friend your ear rings.
His voice sounds warm and pleasing as he sings.
Every morning i come to school yearning.
you're the one in school who keeps me running.
mostly you lift me up on eagles wings.
Today I see you leaving for somewhere.
I hope it's not to bad and far away.
Although we're far we will think the same way.
you will never leave my good and true care.
I will always be waiting in my lair.
I will look out my window everyday.

Ballad
Joe was a hobo
and lived in Tokyo
He wanted to go to America
and also wanted to go to cuba
joe never liked to study
His grades were always cruddy.
But if he wanted to travel, he had to have a job
One day he met a man called Bob.
Bob also liked to travel
He disliked walking because he hated gravel.
Bob was very rich
but he was ugly like a witch
On the other hand Joe was poor
but he was good at telling lore
Bob and Joe hung out and they were happy
they were very yappy.
they forgot about traveling
and ended with babbling
and lived in Tokyo
He wanted to go to America
and also wanted to go to cuba
joe never liked to study
His grades were always cruddy.
But if he wanted to travel, he had to have a job
One day he met a man called Bob.
Bob also liked to travel
He disliked walking because he hated gravel.
Bob was very rich
but he was ugly like a witch
On the other hand Joe was poor
but he was good at telling lore
Bob and Joe hung out and they were happy
they were very yappy.
they forgot about traveling
and ended with babbling

Blank verse
I think we are the best friends in the world.
we first met each other in seventh grade.
we were both very scared and didn't speak.
We did our first project in science class.
that is when our big friendship first started.
We stand up and look out for each other.
When one of us are in pain, we share it.
We fit like peanut butter and jelly.
we always do our project together.
Without you, I'd be lonely in this world.
we first met each other in seventh grade.
we were both very scared and didn't speak.
We did our first project in science class.
that is when our big friendship first started.
We stand up and look out for each other.
When one of us are in pain, we share it.
We fit like peanut butter and jelly.
we always do our project together.
Without you, I'd be lonely in this world.
Haiku
the green grass waving
cattle grazing in the grass.
o boy it is spring.
dead leaves all over
cold breeze blows the leaves afar.
the signs of winter
ground covered with white
run outside with thick clothing.
January breeze
The cars zoom by me
they leave a smokey dark trail
welcome to downtown
teens go in and out.
a room filled with computers
the smell of smokers
cattle grazing in the grass.
o boy it is spring.
dead leaves all over
cold breeze blows the leaves afar.
the signs of winter
ground covered with white
run outside with thick clothing.
January breeze
The cars zoom by me
they leave a smokey dark trail
welcome to downtown
teens go in and out.
a room filled with computers
the smell of smokers

BALLAD OF A TREE

BALLAD OF A TREE
by: Dowell Ighohwo Oba
Feathers of warmth
Leafy shade from draught
It was a tree, a lonely tree
Clearly termed the ebelebo tree.
Hands to reach and beckon the world
Sounding to all with mouths like sword.
Edges sharp to lead a trail
A trail as long as a path of rail.
At the sound of its bell leads the way
A bell as loud as the temple’s pray
Calling the names of merchants, proceed
To let them meet in a shade as seed,
Sealing their joy from turmoils of fear
Pouring out warmth from leaves it bear.
Planted for a purpose defined by nature
Growing tall a destiny to nurture
Dramatically fulfilling a cause by actors
A cast and crew like that of pastors.
In times of glare from lights so bright
Shielding of lovers from eyes, their right
To explore their love the fullest of joy
And stand no chance of being so coy.
A tree for all, a tree we’ve drove
From bearing fruits to a tree of love;
Fixing of meetings to actualize some plans
Clearing of hearts from burdens of clans.
Seen many scenes and viewed several plots
Standing tree on passions from lots,
Viewed several tears and broke many winds
A shade after a fall to unleash our finds.

shakespear sonnet

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed,
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course untrimmed:
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st,
Nor shall death brag thou wand'rest in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st,
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
